Pediatric Dentist (Longview, WA)

Position 1: Pediatric Dentist (Longview, WA)

The Pediatric Dentist will be responsible for providing exclusive care for infants, children and adolescents, including those with special needs. Duties and responsibilities can be categorized to include:

  • Infant oral health exams, which include risk assessment for caries in mother and child;
  • Teaching children and parents about oral health and providing preventative care;
  • Treat children under conscious sedation as well as treating children under general anesthesia;
  • Provide preventive dental care including cleaning and fluoride treatments, as well as nutrition
    and diet recommendations;
  • Habit counseling (for example, pacifier use and thumb sucking);
  • Early assessment and treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite
    (orthodontics);
  • Diagnosis of oral conditions associated with diseases such as diabetes, congenital heart defect,
    asthma, hay fever, and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder;
  • Management of gum diseases and conditions including ulcers, short frenulum, mucoceles, and
    pediatric periodontal disease;
  • Care for dental injuries (for example, fractured, displaced, or knocked-out teeth);

Requirements:

Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry

Must possess a valid State of Washington 'Dentist License'

  • Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry.
  • Must possess a valid State of Washington Dentist License.
  • Completion of the National Board Dental Examination part I & II.
  • Western Regional Examination Board (WREB).

Salary: $115k-$330k. Standard Benefits.

Requirements:

Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry

Must possess a valid State of Washington 'Dentist License'

  • Completion of at least two additional postdoctoral academic years of dental education in the
    United States from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited dental school.
  • Completion of the Integrated National Board Dental Examination.
  • Completion of the clinical examination by the Commission on Dental Agency Competency
    (CDCA), formally known as NERB.
